About Kahli

kahli is an independent fragrance and creative lifestyle brand based in Orange County, California.

At the heart of kahli is a love for scent, design, and the small details that make everyday life more memorable. From original perfumes and hand-poured candles to stationery, stickers, art, accessories, and collectibles, we create and curate products meant to bring a little more beauty, personality, and discovery to everyday life.

Some things are designed by us. Some are created with independent artists. Others are simply things we find, love, and want to share.

Our Story

Huy Đăng Nguyễn founded kahli in 2015, starting as a small creative project inspired by art, stationery, design, and pop culture.

Over the years, kahli experimented with different ideas, developed original artwork and characters, attended conventions, and became part of a growing creative community. In 2022, that original chapter came to an end.

But the idea behind kahli never really went away.

In late 2025, kahli began a new chapter with a broader vision of building a brand that could evolve beyond any single product or category while maintaining its own distinct identity.

Today, fragrance has become an important part of that next chapter. Perfumery opened an entirely new way for us to explore ideas, memories, places, and moods through scent. Alongside our candles and growing collection of creative goods, it is helping shape a new world for kahli.

Fragrance at Kahli

We approach fragrance as another form of creative expression.

We develop our perfumes through experimentation, iteration, and a genuine fascination with scent. Rather than chasing trends, we want each fragrance to have its own identity and atmosphere, whether it feels quiet and comforting, dark and mysterious, bright and airy, or somewhere completely unexpected.

Our candles extend that experience into the home, transforming fragrance into something that becomes part of a space and a moment.

As our fragrance collection grows, so will the stories, ingredients, and ideas we explore.

A World of Creativity

kahli has always been about more than one thing.

Stationery, illustration, original characters, fragrance, objects, and collaborations all exist within the same world. We work with independent artists when the right project comes along, and we carefully curate products from other makers and brands we genuinely enjoy.

Our roots include a longtime appreciation for Japanese stationery and design, but our influences aren't limited to one place or style. We want kahli to remain curious, evolving, and open to inspiration from anywhere.

Original Characters & Design

Original characters have been part of kahli since its earliest days.

One is Moriko, a black tiger with quiet confidence, a curious nature, and an adventurous spirit. As kahli grows, Moriko will be joined by new characters, artwork, stories, and collections that give the brand a world of its own.

These characters aren't separate from what we create. They're another way for us to tell stories, experiment with ideas, and add a little personality to everyday objects.

Looking Ahead

We're still figuring out exactly how far kahli can go, and that's part of what makes building it exciting.

We still have fragrances to develop, characters to introduce, products to design, artists to collaborate with, conventions to attend, and ideas we haven't thought of yet.

Our long-term goal is simple: build a brand with a recognizable point of view and make things people genuinely look forward to discovering.
